It’s the dog days of summer
the heat is a bummer
time for a cooler scene
so join us August 19We’ll set up a Taco Bar
chicken and beef will be the star
veggies and tortillas will join the fun
and “make your own” should please everyone
If you are musically inclined
even if your talent is sometimes maligned
bring your instrument or sheet music along
and after dinner please share your song
there’ll be an open mic for your availing
or just hang out and talk about sailing
it’s national Aviation Day, so you can try
racing paper planes if you want to fly
So please bring a side, hors’doeuvre or dessert
keep it simple because it’s a dead cert
the heat will be high and the humidity worse
and please forgive this ridiculous verse
